Happy Clients

Go Granada! Well worth your attention. The Spanish love to be out and about well into the evening and night, so to see what's happening, tag along with Lucy for a Tapas Tour. The 4 of us spent a delightful evening with her. Four tapas bars in 3 hours was good fun! Lucy is a Brit living in Granada and she enjoys sharing her adopoted city; we feel like we made a new friend last night. Excellent value for the price.

Breaks new ground for a tour guide. From the moment I began emailing Lucy to ask for ideas for my trip, it was clear that I had found someone who cared as much as me about having the best trip possible. I have travelled widely using a number of tour guides and can safely say that I have never experienced the kind of care and attention to detail that she paid to planning my itinerary. I work long hours and didn't have any time to do the research that a trip to Granada warranted. Very soon, I felt comfortable to put my holiday in her hands. I can say is that my instinct was proven right: I had the trip of a lifetime doing a wide varierty of activities and I know that Lucy was key to helping me to achieve this. She can definitely show other tour guides how it is done and she is trailblazing the way forward in her industry. Book her time while you can!

Do not miss out - take a tour! If you want to know about Granada take a tour with Lucy. Having been to Spain quite a few times and travelled through various regions mostly where no English is spoken my wife and I always managed to navigate our way through menus and wine lists. However after a Tapas Tour with Lucy our confidence in trying out small Tapas bars and restaurants has soared. If you like food and wine the Tapas Tour with Lucy is a must. We had a great time with fantastic company and as it was our first we put to good use what we learned on the tour for the remainder of our stay. Thanks again Lucy .......... if ever in Granada again we will do it all again. Frank and Edna

You must - Go Granada! If planning a visit to Granada I would make sure you book a tour with Lucy at Go Granada! A group of us went and all of us found the tour to be very informative and interesting but also good fun. Lucy introduced us to the local history, tapas and bars not normally on a tourist route which made us feel more of the scene, thanks Lucy.

Job well done! I have been in the travel industry since 1971 and must say that the tour Lucy invented for us was absolutely perfect. She jumped through so many hoops before our arrival to try to satisfy the odd assortment of requests that we had. With limited time, we were anxious to experience as much of Granada as possible. The fact that we arrived on Sunday did not help. But somehow, she was able to put together an extraordinary day for 6 very happy people! We had a BALL! Thank you Lucy so much for all your hard work. I know it wasn't easy, but you made it seem absolutely seamless! Stay in touch, and I will be sending more business your way!

Go Granada are Great! Great place and a great guide - found an amazing bar off the main drag, that we would never have found without Lucy.

Lucy from Go Granada is a MUST - you will have the time of your life! I can not say enough Great and Wonderful things about Go Granada. Lucy is her own tour company and she will show you all that Granada has to offer. I hooked up with Lucy through Tripadvisor and I will never be able to thank tripadvisor enough. If you go to Granada you just have to "hook up " with Lucy - she is amazing. She is so nice and easy to get to know. She picks you up at your hotel and showed me the best time in my life. I now have a friend when I go back to Granada. I met a friend of mine in Granada and Lucy took us on several of the tours she offers. We did the East to West walking tour, the Tapas tour, the Flamenco show and she set us up with a private food tasting tour at La Oliva ( which tripadvisor has rated # 1). She is now offering a few more tours, so I will have to go back to Granada next Sept. to do those. So if you are planning a trip to Granada - you have to see Lucy at Go Granada - she will make your stay in this beautiful city so worth it. Her prices are very very reasonable - she is your private tour guide!

How to get the best out of a Granada trip. Visiting any foreign city is a bit of a trial - how to find the best things to do and avoid the tourist traps? We found GoGranada and Lucy on TripAdvisor and booked her for the City Taster tour, the Tapas Tour, the Gourmet Tasting, and The Moor's Last Sigh tour for our week in Granada. All were great. The City Taster gave us a really good overview of the city, with a map of all we'd seen, and we were able to orient ourselves and strike off to places we'd glimpsed and also those she recommended after talking to us. The Tapas tour was an essential - how to find the best Tapas in a great Tapas city, we'd never have chanced on the places she recommended and took us to - and she was a great companion, also. I will review the Gourmet Tasting elsewhere under La Oliva, but it was an incredible experience which, if you like food and wine, you MUST DO. And then the Moor's Last Sigh covered all the angles of the city we'd not already found. We had a wonderful trip, and lots of the things we saw and did were down to Lucy. Highly recommended, let her show you how to really enjoy beautiful Granada.

A fantastic introduction to Granada! I was in Granada for just two nights and one full day, so I wanted to make the most of it. I found Lucy on TripAdvisor, and she was immediately responsive to my inquiry. After several emails, I settled on a suggested tapas and walking tour for my first night. Lucy met me at my hotel and away we went. She took the time to learn a little bit about me and my interests, and tailored our walk and visits to tapas bars accordingly. She is very knowledgeable about Granada, and she's a lovely person to spend time with. When we were finished, she very kindly mapped out the route we followed, and made some suggestions for what to do the next day (other than touring the Alhambra). Incidentally, in our correspondence, Lucy was very generous in offering recommendations on book the Alhambra tour, which must be booked at least several weeks in advance, especially in the Summer. I highly recommend Lucy Valentine for a "good value" tour of Granada, especially if you'd like to get a quick lay of the land and then decide what to explore further. Thanks Lucy...you made the visit great!

A quirky and personalised tour of Granada Lucy is a friendly woman and was very accommodating. She personalised my tour around Granada to meet all the things I would most like to see. She has some great insights to the best (and secret) views of Granada, and general advice on getting around. Made my introduction to the city much easier.

It´s good to go with this Local! I like going off the beaten path when I head to a new city. Lucy took my interests to heart and showed me some great streets full of street art by local artists, miradors and sinfully good tapas. The trick to being a good guide is loving the city you're showing and Lucy shows you how amazing and multifaceted Granada is through her love and admiration of the city. It's worth booking with her!

A tour with Lucy is a great way to discover Granada! We booked a 3 hour walking tour with Lucy on our last evening in Granada. Lucy loves Granada and did a great job sharing her city with us. It was interesting to hear the stories behind the buildings and fascinating to explore back streets that we wouldn't have discovered on our own. In addition, Lucy is an interesting and fun person to spend time with. In the end, my two children (ages 12 and 14), my husband, and I were all glad we spent our evening with Lucy. The price was very reasonable, too. I would, however, recommend discovering Granada with Lucy at the beginning of your stay, rather than the end.

Fantastic walking tour of the city gives a taste of Granada at an easy going pace One of the great things about Granada is that it's compact, therefore best explored on foot. In fact I couldn't imagine doing it any other way! With three young kids in tow Lucy suggested a route starting at 9am with a climb to one of the higher points of the city (before it got too hot!). This proved to be the perfect strategy with the rest of the morning spent gently winding down the hill taking in the other areas of the city. Lucy is extremely easy going and accomodating, going out of her way to show us features of the city we'd otherwise never have seen. Definitely a day to remember and a trip to be recommended.

– Craig M and Family, Scotland, July 2011

Not to be missed! Lucy took my husband and I on a Tapas Tour and I have to say it was fantastic value. We got to visit Tapas Bars in Granada that we would never have found and enjoyed a running commentary on the City as we progressed. Would definitely recommend contacting Lucy when you next visit Granada.

This is the one if you love Tapas! I had been to Granada before but my husband hadn't, so I had seen many of the sights before and wanted to do something different. I came across the www.gogranada.co.uk site and saw the Tapas tour offered by the company. I'd had tapas before then but nothing like what I'd tasted on the tour. Lucy the owner of the company took us to the best places where the food was just awesome. The food was so tasty and fresh and even though tapas is supposed to be little plates of nibbles, you got to eat so much on the tour. This really is a must do if you love Spanish food. Lucy really knows her stuff and a real character too which makes the tour a lot of fun. If you go to Granada don't miss out on this one.

Best introduction to Granada! Lucy organised a lovely evening out and about and a wonderful walking tour of Granada. While I had seen bits and pieces of the city by myself the Go Granada tour just made the city make sense! I had found the Albaicin quite daunting to walk through on my own, and wandering through with the walking tour, the place felt far more accessible, and I'm happy to say that I returned later on my own to explore some more. I'm only sad that I couldn't stay in Granada longer to explore in great detail some of the other areas we walked through. The drinks and tapas were also great! I would definitely recommend the Go Granada tour. Lucy was super friendly and approachable, and her energy and love for the city was infectious!

Great personal touches! As a volunteer Docent at the New York Botanical Garden and formerly a guide at the Summer Mansions of the Preservation Society of Newport, Rhode Island, I believe I know a great tour! Lucy Valantine's Go Granada three hour tour of the hills and historic Granada , ending with tapas, is one of the top three tours I have ever taken! (It may be number one!) Ms Valantine's passion for the subject and knowledge kept me enthralled. But, more than that are the personal touches - knowing where to peek between gates to see beautiful flower gardens, voiced concern about the politics of keeping the city beautiful and history of the area from water cisterns to origins of words. Simply put, you must put on a pair of sturdy shoes and take Go Granada's tour if you are in Granada !! I can't wait to go back!

A fun introduction to tapas bars! We had arranged to meet Lucy in the foyer of our hotel and found her to be a very attractive lady with a happy, outgoing personality, and we warmed to her at once. After ascertaining what our preferences were, she suggested a tapas tour of 4 or 5 tapas bars in the central area of Granada in little lanes behind the cathedral. Each had a different feel and it was a delight to be in safe hands in what were definitely NOT tourist bars. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of places and food and it was fun to relax and chat with her. The only snag was that after 3 bars we couldn't manage any more food or drink - possibly because at the first one, the proprietor had given us TWO large tapas. And it has to be remembered that in Granada a tapas is given free with your drink ! A thoroughly enjoyable evening and not expensive. We strongly recommend it.

Interesting histories! Granada was a first for me and my friend and as we only had a few days we wanted to take in as much as possible. We wanted to see as much of Granada as we could, as well as have time for relaxing. Lucy put together an itinerary for us which enabled us to enjoy all the sites, get to know the city, as well as have time for a tapas tour and a trip to the Arab baths which were heaven after a morning spent walking round the Alhambra. Well done Go Granada and absolutely I will be looking you up when I am next there (which will be soon!).

If there is one thing you do! A tapas tour with Lucy is an absolutely must do while in Granada. My girlfriend and I were visiting from New York and we decided to take the tour on a whim. We had spent the previous day wandering the streets of Granada finding a few great places to eat tapas and enjoy a glass of wine, but we lost a lot of our night trying to find the restaurants / bars we were looking for and eating at a couple that didn't live up to their review. This is where Lucy comes in... We wanted to hit as many spots as we could and get a taste of the local flavor - places the tour guides hadn't caught up to yet and Lucy delivered big time! She is a wonderful person, extremely knowledgable, and a lot of fun. Not only did she take us to some really authentic tapas bars, but we also got to explore the city and go to neighborhoods we would have never seen if it weren't for Lucy - just like the locals do. Our tapas hopping with Lucy really added to our experience of Granada and we feel like we've made a friend. We know who we'll be calling when we go back!

The only way to see Granada which only the locals know! I was a bit reluctant to take a guided tour but as we were only in Granada for a couple of days we thought we would have a go. From our first meeting Lucy was a most uplifting, happy and informative person, we felt at home right away. So off we trotted through alleyways and secluded squares with a continuous dialogue of fascinating facts. Lucy certainly loves Granada and it shows in her enthusiasm in extending her knowledge and curious little facts about every nook and cranny. We certainly have no reservations in recommending her services to anyone. I only wish there was a Lucy Valantine in every town we visited on our tour of Spain.

– Harry V, Poitier, France, March 2011

I didn´t realise Granada had so much to offer! Lucy was an excellent guide; tapas bars off the beaten track all great; we were there for a short time but got a real sense of the city. Even guided through the best places to shop. Well done Go Granada!

– Jane R, Havant, Hampshire, UK, August 2010

We booked The Moor's Last Sigh and not only did we get to see a different side of Granada that we probably wouldn't have appreciated if we'd done stuff on our own, but Lucy arranged for us to go to an Arab Bath and then booked us a table in the restaurant overlooking the Alhambra. Our romantic meal on the terrace was definitely one of the highlights of the weekend. Shame we were only there for 2 days! Thanks again.

– Claire and Mark, Surrey

I wanted to thank you for the Tapas Tour. It was very instructive and.... very fine!!! Lucy was a very good guide and thanks her from us for all the informations she gives us!! You can tell her we enjoyed the great diner with flamenco and the hints for the alhambra tour were very good!

– Cédric and Sandra, Belgium

Lucy took us on the City Taster and gave us interesting insights into Granada with no boring facts and figures. She is knowledgeable and has obviously done her homework. Lucy was great company and took the time to show us some good bars and restaurants as well. We really enjoyed our morning - worth every penny!

– AMcF, Manchester, England

We wanted to try tapas in Granada, but were worried because we don't speak any Spanish. However, Lucy looked after us and we definitely wouldn't have found any of the bars down passageways that Lucy took us to or had the confidence to go into them! We had a taste of traditional Spanish Culture and loved the Serrano ham and cheese tapas - delicious, very memorable'

Thanks Lucy for a great evening! As promised, we've recommended you to our friends!

We never knew that olive oil could be so interesting! We're enjoying having our flavour of Spain in Dorset.
